Ritualist Identified as Ezeani Caught with 13-Year-Old Boy in Ezeagu as Enugu Faces Surge of Ritual-Related Horror

NEWS REPORT: Alleged Ritualist Caught With 13-Year-Old Boy in Ezeagu as Enugu Community Reels from Separate Shocking Discovery

Enugu State, Nigeria – May 27, 2025

Alleged Ritualist Caught With 13-Year-Old Boy in EzeaguThe quiet town of Unojo Umumba Ndi-Agu in Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State was thrown into chaos this week after a suspected ritualist was apprehended while allegedly attempting to use a 13-year-old boy for a money ritual known locally as “Oke-Ite.” According to eyewitness reports, the man—whose identity is yet to be officially confirmed—was caught red-handed before he could carry out the horrific act.

Locals said the suspect had been acting suspiciously and was trailed by vigilant community members. Upon his arrest, he was reportedly in possession of ritual items and had already lured the child to a secluded area. The boy was rescued alive, and the suspect has since been handed over to security operatives for further investigation. Authorities are yet to release an official statement as the case develops.

This incident comes on the heels of another horrifying case in Enugu where a self-proclaimed native doctor, infamously known as “E Dey Play, E Dey Show,” was apprehended after several corpses, including that of a pregnant woman, were discovered hidden in a soakaway pit on his property. That case, which has rocked the state, has drawn widespread condemnation and triggered community outrage.

The suspect in the latter case had built a public persona around lavish displays of wealth—spraying money at social events and living an extravagant lifestyle. But behind the scenes, he allegedly concealed a string of heinous crimes involving human sacrifice and ritual killings. His arrest came after residents grew suspicious and law enforcement initiated a search of his compound.

Following the grisly discovery, enraged community youths stormed the premises, setting fire to the suspect’s buildings and vehicles in a spontaneous act of vigilante justice. It remains unclear whether the suspect has been officially detained by the police or if he was subjected to mob action.

These back-to-back cases have plunged Enugu into a state of collective soul-searching, with civic leaders and residents alike calling for a renewed focus on moral values, community vigilance, and law enforcement accountability.

“These atrocities show us what happens when society begins to worship money instead of upholding truth and decency,” said a local elder in Ezeagu. “We must go back to the values of integrity, accountability, and compassion. We cannot afford to glorify wealth without questioning its source.”

Human rights groups are also urging the Enugu State Government and the Nigeria Police Force to conduct transparent investigations and bring all perpetrators to justice. Advocacy organizations have also called for increased community sensitization about ritual killings and the need to protect vulnerable individuals—especially children.

As fear and fury spread across the state, residents are demanding urgent reforms in security protocols and a cultural shift away from the dangerous allure of fast wealth and occult practices.

These are not isolated cases; they are a reflection of a broader moral crisis. Until society begins to hold individuals accountable not by their riches but by their values, these horrors will continue to reoccur. The people of Enugu—and indeed all Nigerians—must rise in unity to confront and condemn these acts of inhumanity before more innocent lives are lost.

This is a developing story.
