Lagos, Nigeria – May 27, 2025 – The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has officially launched an investigation into a troubling incident involving popular Nollywood actor Zubby Michael, who allegedly physically assaulted fellow actor Godwin Nnadiekwe on a recent movie set. The altercation, which reportedly resulted in internal bleeding for Nnadiekwe, has sparked public outcry and drawn immediate attention from the industry’s governing body.
According to reports made public by Nollywood producer Stanley Ontop, Zubby Michael allegedly kicked Godwin Nnadiekwe during a scene, in what many are calling an excessive and unsafe display of method acting or possible personal conflict. The incident is said to have left Nnadiekwe hospitalized and under medical observation.
Stanley Ontop took to social media to confirm that AGN President Emeka Rollas had contacted him personally regarding the issue. In a heartfelt post, he wrote:

He gave me the assurance that this matter will be handled properly. They are investigating the matter as we speak (AGN). Let’s wait and see AGN’s reaction to this video.”
“All actors should be careful on set, biko, because you don’t know who is alive tomorrow. No actor deserves such an act from his fellow actor. AGN President, please, this should be addressed properly to avert future occurrences. Get well soon, bro @godwin_nnadiekwe. 🙏🙏”
While Zubby Michael has not yet publicly commented on the incident, the footage or eyewitness reports of the altercation have not yet been made public either. However, the gravity of the allegations has raised serious concerns about on-set safety, professional conduct, and the boundaries between acting and real-life aggression in Nollywood.
The AGN, under Emeka Rollas’ leadership, has vowed to take the matter seriously and ensure that those responsible are held accountable if wrongdoing is confirmed. This case may lead to stronger industry regulations on physical interactions during filming and renewed emphasis on set protocols and actor protection.
Industry colleagues and fans alike have taken to social media to express support for Nnadiekwe and to condemn all forms of violence within the entertainment space.
