Social media users have reacted with skepticism following a recent emotional interview shared online by Martin Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, involving a Lagos-based woman who narrated a highly controversial and confusing story surrounding alleged surrogacy, child theft, prostitution, and exploitation.

The interview, which lasted approximately 23 minutes and 40 seconds, quickly generated mixed reactions across Facebook, TikTok, and X, with many viewers questioning the credibility, structure, and lack of verifiable evidence within the narration.

According to the woman’s account during the interview, she claimed to be a single mother living in Lagos who survives by selling explicit content online for very small amounts of money. She further alleged that her child’s father was financially unstable, forcing her into that lifestyle. During the interview, she openly discussed sending nude materials online and also spoke extensively about her mother’s health condition and troubled marital history.

The story later shifted dramatically when she claimed she travelled from Lagos to Aba to assist a family acquaintance suffering from a leg condition. While staying there, she alleged she was introduced to an unnamed couple allegedly seeking a surrogate mother.

However, social media critics noted that the story became increasingly inconsistent from that point onward.

The woman claimed she accepted the surrogacy arrangement, became pregnant, stayed with the unidentified couple throughout the pregnancy, and later delivered the child. She alleged the baby was taken from her after delivery and that she was not fully paid as promised.

In another twist, she also claimed she later became pregnant again by another man and travelled to Imo State to deliver the child, after which the same unidentified woman allegedly appeared again and stole the baby from the hospital.

Despite the seriousness of the allegations, viewers pointed out that the interview failed to provide critical details expected in a genuine investigative report, including:

  • Names of the alleged couple,
  • Name of any hospital involved,
  • Identity of doctors or nurses,
  • Location details,
  • Police reports,
  • Legal agreements,
  • Witnesses,
  • Medical evidence,
  • Or any documentary proof.

The absence of verifiable information triggered criticism online, with many users accusing the interview of relying heavily on emotional storytelling without investigative depth.

Several commentators argued that sensitive allegations involving child trafficking, illegal surrogacy, and hospital-related crimes should require factual verification and evidence rather than vague narratives presented for online engagement.

Others described the interview as another example of “social media sensationalism,” where emotional content is amplified without proper scrutiny, fact-checking, or accountability.

As reactions continue online, no official statement has reportedly been released by law enforcement agencies or medical authorities regarding the allegations contained in the interview.
